Could of, would of, should of


There is no good excuse for using any of these. Yes, there’s a good reason – you of  have learned to spell by sounding out – but this is no excuse unless you’re still at primary school and are being coached in phonics right at the beginning of your learning of literacy. If you are a grown up, just read the thing back to yourself and ask “what does ‘of’ mean?”. Then write out a thousand times “could have, would have, should have“.
